Pennsylvania law provides for special veteran license plates for honorably discharged veterans and those honoring veterans of the U.S. armed forces. Applicants pay fees in addition to regular registration, with specific fees allocated to the Veterans' Trust Fund. Honorably discharged veterans of the U.S. armed forces or reserve components, as well as individuals honoring veterans, are eligible to apply for these special plates.
The fee is $20 for honorably discharged veterans and $35 for those honoring veterans, with $15 of the latter fee allocated to the Veterans' Trust Fund. These are in addition to the regular registration fees.
The plates can be used on passenger cars or trucks with a registered gross weight of no more than 14,000 pounds.
For plates honoring veterans, $15 of the fee is directed to the Veterans' Trust Fund, supporting veteran-related programs and services.
