Statute Text
Acting
as vehicle transporter without certificate; exemptions; penalty.
(1) A person commits the offense
of acting as a vehicle transporter without a certificate if the person is not
the holder of a vehicle transporter certificate issued under ORS 822.310 and
the person drives or tows over the highways of this state:
(a) A vehicle
that is:
(A) Required to
be registered under the vehicle code;
(B) Driven or
towed on its own wheels;
(C) Driven or
towed from outside this state or from a manufacturer or vehicle dealer within
this state; and
(D) Driven or
towed to a prospective purchaser, manufacturer or dealer or the agent thereof
either in this state or in any other state, territory or foreign country; or
(b) A
manufactured structure.
(2) The offense
described in this section does not apply to persons or vehicles exempted from
this section under ORS 822.305.
(3) The offense
described in this section, acting as a vehicle transporter without a
