Minor
operating school vehicle; penalty.
(1) A person commits the offense of being a minor operating a school vehicle if
the person is under 18 years of age and the person drives any of the following
while it is in use for the transportation of pupils to or from school or an
authorized school activity or function:
(a) A school bus.
(b) A school
activity vehicle.
(c) A vehicle
owned by a public or governmental agency.
(d) A privately
owned vehicle that is operated for compensation that is a vehicle other than a
vehicle commonly known and used as a private passenger vehicle and not operated
for compensation except in the transportation of students to or from school.
(2) The offense
described in this section, minor operating a school vehicle, is a Class B
