Signs prohibiting unmuffled engine brakes. (1) The Oregon Transportation Commission shall adopt uniform standards for posting signs prohibiting the use of unmuffled engine brakes as described in ORS 811.492. (2) The commission is authorized to provide a uniform system of posting signs within the boundaries of the state. Any sign posted shall inform the driver that the use of unmuffled engine braking is prohibited and shall give the dollar amount of the maximum fine provided for violation of ORS 811.492. (3) All signs placed shall conform to specifications approved by the commission. The commission may use signs that show internationally recognized and approved symbols.
