Statute Text
Personnel; membership in retirement systems.
(1) The Port of Portland may employ engineers,
superintendents, mechanics, clerks and other persons as necessary or convenient
in carrying on its work and fix their rates of compensation.
(2) No employee
of the port shall become a member of the Public Employees Retirement System if
membership of the employee in the system would result in coverage of the
employee by, and contributions on the employees behalf by the port to, both a
private pension system and the Public Employees Retirement System. [Amended by
