Statute Text
Certificates of authority for persons, companies and corporations providing
services on January 1, 1986.
(1) Notwithstanding ORS 759.020, the Public Utility Commission shall issue to
any person, company or corporation providing intrastate telecommunications
services that are subject to regulation by the commission on January 1, 1986, a
certificate of authority to continue to provide those services on and after
January 1, 1986.
(2)
Notwithstanding any other provision of law, the commission shall issue
to any cooperative corporation, or unincorporated
association providing intrastate telecommunications service on January 1, 1986,
a certificate of authority to continue to provide those services on and after
January 1, 1986. Such actions shall not subject such cooperative corporations
or association to the commissions general powers of regulation. [Formerly
