Statute Text
Periodic payments for period certain. An annuity policy meeting the requirements of this section may provide that periodic payments shall be made under the policy for a period certain. Payments under such a policy shall begin on a date less than 13 months after the date on which the insurer issues the policy. The policy shall provide that payments will be made for a period of five years or more. The periodic payments may be fixed or variable in amount. If such policy offers commuted values on the annuity, such values must be based on an interest rate not more than one percent in excess of the interest rates that were used in determining the payments when the annuity was purchased.
