Limitations on cancellation; refusal to issue or renew insurance.
(1) An insurer offering casualty
insurance or commercial liability insurance may not cancel or refuse to issue
or renew a policy solely on the basis that the policyholder holds a public
office.
(2) An insurer
offering casualty insurance or commercial liability insurance may not include a
provision in the insurance contract limiting coverage under the contract solely
on the basis that the policyholder holds a public office. [1997 c.778 §2]
