Statute Text
Duration of reduction. Except as otherwise provided in this section, the premium reduction required by ORS 742.490 (1) shall be effective for an insured for a three-year period after successful completion of the approved course if the person is less than 70 years of age at the time of taking the course or for a two-year period after successful completion of an approved course if the person is 70 years of age or more at the time of taking the course. An insurer may require, as a condition of maintaining the discount, that the insured: (1) Not be involved in an accident for which the insured is at fault; and (2) Not be convicted of or plead guilty or nolo contendere to a moving traffic violation.
