Statute Text
Emergency Medical Services Advisory Board duties; subcommittees; advisory
committees.
(1)
The Emergency Medical Services Advisory Board shall provide advice and
recommendations to the Emergency Medical Services Program on the following:
(a) A definition
of patient for purposes of time-sensitive medical emergencies, pediatric
medical emergencies and behavioral health medical emergencies;
(b)
Evidence-based practices and standards for emergency medical services care for
defined patient types;
(c) Emergency
medical services workforce needs;
(d) Coordination
of care between health care specialties;
(e) Other issues
related to emergency medical services as determined by the Oregon Health
Authority and the program;
(f) The
appointment of the regional emergency medical services advisory boards; and
(g) Approval of
the regional emergency medical services plans described in ORS 682.530.
(2) The board may
convene temporary subcommittees for matters related to emergency medical
services in order to inform and make recommendations to the board.
(3) In addition
to the duties described in subsection (1) of this section, the board shall
convene the following permanent advisory committees that shall inform and make
recommendations to the board, in addition to other specified duties:
(a)
Time-Sensitive Medical Emergencies Advisory Committee, as described in ORS
682.512;
(b) Emergency
Medical Services Advisory Committee, as described in ORS 682.515;
(c) Pediatric
Emergency Medical Services Advisory Committee, as described in ORS 682.518; and
(d) Behavioral
Health Emergency Medical Services Advisory Committee, as described in ORS

(1) The Emergency Medical Services

senior care medical emergencies;
(b)
Evidence-based practices and standards for emergency medical services care for
defined patient types;
(c) Emergency
medical services workforce needs;
(d) Coordination
of care between health care specialties;
(e) Other issues
related to emergency medical services as determined by the Oregon Health
Authority and the program;
(f) The
appointment of the regional emergency medical services advisory boards; and
(g) Approval of
the regional emergency medical services plans described in ORS 682.530.
(2) The board may

services in order to inform and make recommendations to the board.
(3) In addition

682.521; and
(e) Long Term
Care and Senior Care Emergency Medical Services Advisory Committee, as
described in ORS 682.524.
