Statute Text
Unemployment compensation programs under federal authority.
Notwithstanding any other
provision of this chapter, the Employment Department, at the direction of the
Governor, may take appropriate action to expedite and provide for the
implementation of an unemployment compensation program not provided for in this
chapter, if the program is authorized by the United States Secretary of Labor
and if the director determines that the program will be beneficial to the state
and its people through the receipt of additional federal money for unemployment
compensation purposes. The Employment Department shall notify interested
parties if action is taken under this section. [1993 c.200 §2]
