Statute Text
Health
care coverage for unemployed individuals; deduction of benefits.
In order to provide health care
coverage for eligible unemployed individuals, the Employment Department, upon
approval and funding by the Emergency Board, is authorized:
(1) To deduct an
amount from unemployment compensation otherwise payable to an individual and to
use the amount so deducted to pay for health care coverage if the individual
voluntarily elects to have such deduction made, and such deduction is made
under a program which meets applicable federal requirements and has been
approved in accordance with the provisions of this section and ORS 657.885.
(2) To certify to
the Oregon Health Authority those unemployed individuals eligible to receive
health care coverage pursuant to criteria established by or pursuant to federal
law in order to receive federal funds for obtaining such coverage.
(3) To enter into
contracts with other appropriate federal or state agencies. [1983 c.753 §2;
