State Accident Insurance Fund Corporation may insure liability under Longshoremen’s and Harbor Workers’ Compensation Act; procedure; cancellation. (1) The State Accident Insurance Fund Corporation may insure Oregon employers against their liability for compensation under the Longshoremen’s and Harbor Workers’ Compensation Act (33 U.S.C. 901 to 950) or any Act amendatory or supplementary thereto or in lieu thereof, as fully as any private insurance carrier. (2) The State Accident Insurance Fund Corporation may, from time to time, fix rates of contributions to be paid by such employers. These rates shall be based upon the costs of inspection and other administration, the hazard of the occupation and the accident experience of the employers. The State Accident Insurance Fund Corporation may require a minimum annual premium, contributions, assessments and fees from such employers. (3) All claims for compensation and other costs arising from such insurance shall be paid from the Industrial Accident Fund. (4) The State Accident Insurance Fund Corporation or any employer may cancel any insurance coverage issued under this section by giving notice as required by the Longshoremen’s and Harbor Workers’ Compensation Act, or the rules or regulations made in pursuance thereof.
