Statute Text
Request for mediation; meeting with parties. Whenever a representative group of producers of an agricultural commodity are unable to reach an agreement on price or other marketing term with a handler, either side may request in writing mediation assistance from the State Department of Agriculture in settling the dispute. Not later than 10 days after receiving such a request for assistance, the department shall meet with the parties to the dispute and shall assist the parties in attempting to reach a settlement.
