Statute Text
Duties
of State Department of Agriculture; rules.
(1) The State Department of Agriculture shall:
(a) Monitor the
methods and practices used or proposed by the Oregon Hemp Commission in
carrying out the goals and meeting the needs disclosed by the budget of the
commission;
(b) Promote
cooperation among the Oregon Hemp Commission, the commodity commissions, the
Oregon Beef Council and the Oregon Wheat Commission, and assist in the
interchange of information and experiences among those entities;
(c) Carry out the
assigned organizational procedures under ORS 571.400 to 571.501, including the
appointment and removal of members of the Oregon Hemp Commission;
(d) Review
budgets submitted to the Director of Agriculture by the commission; and
(e) Adopt rules
to carry out the provisions of ORS 571.400 to 571.501.
(2) The
department shall review, and may approve or disapprove, plans and projects
recommended by the Oregon Hemp Commission for promotion, advertising and
research and for the dissemination of consumer and hemp industry information.
In reviewing a plan or project under this subsection, the department shall
consider whether the plan or project is:
(a) Factual;
(b) Not
disparaging to other agricultural commodities; and
(c) Consistent
with the purposes of ORS 571.400 to 571.501. [2021 c.216 §3]
