Qualifications to serve on board; initial meeting; initial terms of board
members.
(1) If a
sand control district contains 100 or more electors residing within its
boundaries, electors of the district are qualified to serve as board members.
Otherwise, an individual who owns taxable real property within the district and
is an elector registered in this state is qualified to serve as a member.
(2) Within 10
days after the creation of the district or the election of the first board
members, whichever occurs later, the district board shall:
(a) Meet and
organize; and
(b) Determine by
lot the length of term of each board member.
(3) The term of
one of the members determined under subsection (2) of this section expires June
30 next following the first regular district election. The term of two members
determined under subsection (2) of this section expires June 30 next following the
second regular district election. [2015 c.560 §3]
