Lands suited for growing forest products to be designated Common School Forest Lands and withdrawn from sale. (1) The Department of State Lands and the State Board of Forestry shall designate and set aside those lands owned by the State of Oregon, under the jurisdiction of the Department of State Lands, which are primarily suited for the growing of timber and other forest products. (2) The state-owned lands shall be designated and set aside pursuant to ORS 530.470 and 530.480, and when so designated and set aside, shall be known as the Common School Forest Lands and hereby are dedicated for the primary purposes stated in subsection (1) of this section and shall be withdrawn from sale except as provided in ORS 530.460 to 530.520.
