Provisions in rule or order requiring unit operation.
Any rule or order of the governing
board of the State Department of Geology and Mineral Industries providing for
the unit operation of a geothermal resource area may include provisions for:
(1) Division of a
reservoir into zones;
(2) Establishment
of spacing units, including a description of their location, size and shape;
(3) The
integration of separately owned tracts or interests within a spacing unit, the
development and operation of the spacing unit and the sharing of production;
(4) The
protection of existing and future beneficial uses of water;
(5) Maintenance
of the renewability of geothermal resources and any other natural resources;
and
(6) Any
additional provisions the board considers necessary for carrying out the
provisions of this chapter or for protection of the public health, safety and
