Director to report on fish passage rules, adequacy and implementation. The State Fish and Wildlife Director shall report to the Governor, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, the President of the Senate and the appropriate legislative committee with responsibility for salmon restoration or species recovery: (1) Prior to the adoption of rules relating to fish passage; (2) Prior to the establishment of the general criteria for determining the adequacy of fish passage and of alternatives to fish passage required to be established under ORS 509.585 (7)(c); and (3) Semiannually on the progress that the director has made in implementing ORS 509.580 to 509.590.
