Statute Text
Felling dead trees and snags; rules.
(1) In an operation area on forestland inside or within one-eighth of one mile
of a forest protection district:
(a) If
power-driven machinery is used at any location to load and assemble forest
products, the operator shall fell all dead trees and snags of such size and
within such distance of the equipment as may be required by rules promulgated
by the State Forester.
(b) On forestland
west of the summit of the Cascade Mountains, the operator shall fell all dead
trees and snags within the operation area of such size, at such times and in
such manner as may be required by rules promulgated by the State Forester.
(2) Rules
promulgated under this section shall prescribe such felling as reasonably is
necessary to prevent the spread of fire. [Formerly 477.217; 1967 c.429 §49;
