Statute Text
Report
by officer investigating fire; exemption.
(1) The officer making an investigation of a fire
occurring in a city, village or township shall forthwith notify the State Fire
Marshal and, within one week of the occurrence of the fire, shall furnish the
State Fire Marshal a written statement of all facts relating to its cause and
origin, and such other information as is required by forms provided by the
Department of the State Fire Marshal.
(2) This section
shall not apply to forestland under the jurisdiction of the State Forester. [Amended
