Statute Text
Prohibitions concerning influencing results of races.
(1) No person shall influence or
conspire or attempt to influence or conspire with any other person to affect
the result of any race in which an animal participates by stimulating or
depressing any animal involved in such race or otherwise affecting in any way
the animals ability to perform therein, either prior to or during a race,
through the administration of any drug to such animal, or by the use of any
electrical device or equipment or by any mechanical or other device not
sanctioned by the Oregon Racing Commission.
(2) Possession,
within the confines of a race course, of any electrical device or equipment or
of any mechanical or other device not sanctioned by the commission, either
prior to, during or after a race, by a person associating with a racing animal,
shall be deemed as attempting to affect the result of any race.
(3) No person
shall possess, transport or use, within the confines of a race course, any
syringe or needle used for medication purposes or any electrical, mechanical or
other device, unless sanctioned by the commission or the stewards, which could
affect the racing performance of an animal. [1953 c.498 §2; 1969 c.356 §31;
