Statute Text
Prescription drug packaging.
(1) A residential care facility shall ensure that prescription drugs dispensed
to residents of the facility are packaged in a manner that reduces errors in
the tracking of and the administration of the drugs, including but not limited
to the use of unit dose systems or blister packs.
(2) Subsection
(1) of this section does not apply to residents receiving pharmacy benefits
through the United States Department of Veterans Affairs if the pharmacy
benefits do not reimburse the cost of such packaging. [Formerly 443.438]
