General inspection of long term care facility.
(1) The Department of Human
Services shall, in addition to any inspections conducted pursuant to complaints
filed against long term care facilities, conduct at least one general
inspection of each long term care facility in the state each calendar year,
including, but not limited to, entering the facility, interviewing residents
and reviewing records. No advance notice shall be given of any inspection
conducted pursuant to this section.
(2) Any state
employee giving advance notice in violation of subsection (1) of this section
shall be suspended from all duties without pay for a period of at least 10
working days, or for a longer period as determined by the Director of Human
