Statute Text
Report
of rabies cases; quarantine.
(1) Whenever a case of animal rabies occurs, the fact shall be reported to the
Director of the Oregon Health Authority and to the State Department of
Agriculture immediately.
(2) The
department, in consultation with the Oregon Health Authority, shall establish a
quarantine pursuant to ORS chapter 596 if the department and the authority find
that a quarantine is necessary.
(3) The
department and the authority may contract with counties for the purpose of
carrying out the provisions of ORS 433.350, 433.355 and subsection (2) of this
