Statute Text
Power
of Oregon Health Authority to take possession and order destruction of animal.
When confinement and observation
of an animal for purposes of determining infection with rabies will not avoid
the necessity of the application of painful or possibly dangerous preventative
treatment to a person who has been bitten or scratched by such animal, the
Director of the Oregon Health Authority may order possession of the animal to
be immediately relinquished to the director or to the authorized representative
of the director and may order the animal destroyed for examination of its
bodily tissues. [1971 c.413 §3; 2009 c.595 §664]
