Statute Text
Quarantine hospital; seizure, control of and compensation for emergency
hospital.
(1) Any
city or municipality may establish a quarantine hospital within or without its
own limits, but if within its own limits, consent of the municipality within
which it is proposed to establish such hospital shall be first obtained. Such
consent shall not be necessary if the hospital is more than 800 feet from any
occupied house or public highway.
(2) When a great
emergency exists the board of health may seize and occupy temporarily for such
quarantine hospital any suitable vacant house or building within its
jurisdiction and the board of health of any city or municipality having a
quarantine hospital shall have control over the same. However, in case of use
of such house or premises, due compensation shall be tendered for their use.
