Statute Text
Health
equity and cultural responsiveness; rules.
(1) For the purpose of establishing the foundational
capabilities under ORS 431.131, health equity and cultural responsiveness
include, but are not limited to, the knowledge, skills and abilities necessary
to:
(a) Support
public health policies that promote health equity;
(b) Implement
processes within public health programs that create health equity;
(c) Recognize and
address health inequities that are specific to certain populations, including
populations specific to sex, race, ethnicity and socioeconomic status;
(d) Communicate
with the public and stakeholders in a transparent and inclusive manner;
(e) When
appropriate, provide the public and stakeholders with access to the data and
findings described in ORS 431.132; and
(f) Engage
diverse populations in community health planning.
(2) For purposes
of this section, the Oregon Health Authority may adopt rules differentiating
between the knowledge, skills and abilities that are necessary for state
governance and that are necessary for local governance. [2015 c.736 §15]
