Revolving fund. (1) On written request of the Department of Corrections, the Oregon Department of Administrative Services shall establish a revolving fund of not to exceed $15,000, including unreimbursed advances, by drawing warrants on amounts appropriated to the Department of Corrections for operating expenses. The revolving fund shall be deposited with the State Treasurer, to be held in a special account against which the department may draw checks. (2) The revolving fund established under subsection (1) of this section may be used by the department to pay for: (a) Travel expenses for employees of the department and for any consultants or advisors for whom payment of travel expenses is authorized by law, or advances therefor; (b) Purchases not exceeding $100 each, which may be required from time to time; (c) Receipt or disbursement of federal funds available under federal law; (d) Emergency expenses of indigent adults in custody released on any form of temporary release or transitional leave; or (e) Settlement of legal claims against the department in cases where immediate payment is necessary or advisable. (3) The revolving fund shall be reimbursed by warrants drawn by the Oregon Department of Administrative Services upon the verified claims of the department charged against the appropriate fund or account.
