Statute Text
Contracts to implement compact.
The Department of Corrections may enter into any contracts on behalf of this
state, not prohibited by any law of this state, as it considers appropriate to
implement the participation of this state in the compact pursuant to Article
III thereof. However, the department shall not enter into any contract:
(1) Relating to
commitments or transfers of children who are under 12 years of age;
(2) Providing for
commitments or transfers of inmates from another state who are 19 years of age
or older to a youth correction facility, as defined in ORS 420.005; or
(3) Providing for
commitments or transfers of youths in this state who are under 17 years of age
to an institution in another state if any of the inmates in that institution
