Statute Text
Leaves
of absence for disaster relief or recovery volunteers; requirements; maximum
period; effect on status of employees.
State agencies and political subdivisions described in ORS 243.853 (2) to (6)
may grant leaves of absence to any public employee who volunteers to
participate in disaster relief or recovery services in the State of Oregon.
Cumulative leave granted shall not exceed 15 work days in any 12-month period.
Such leave granted shall not result in a loss of compensation, seniority,
vacation time, sick leave or accrued overtime for which the employee is
otherwise eligible. Compensation to an employee granted leave under this
section shall be at the employees regular rate of pay for those regular work
hours during which the employee is absent from work. [Formerly 401.485; 2023
