Statute Text
Training for mentors and beginning teachers and administrators.
(1) After consulting with
representatives of teachers, administrators, school boards, schools of
education, the public universities listed in ORS 352.002 and such others as it
considers appropriate, the Educator Advancement Council shall approve training
for mentors and beginning teachers and administrators in programs qualifying
for grants-in-aid under ORS 329.788 to 329.820.
(2) The training
curriculum for mentors shall be based on research and knowledge of the needs of
beginning teachers and administrators.
(3) Mentors shall
be trained to build relationships of trust and mutual collaboration with
beginning teachers and administrators.
(4) Mentors shall
receive professional development before the school year begins and throughout
