Definition of mobile modular unit; statement of value; receipt.
(1) As used in ORS 308.865 and
this section, mobile modular unit means a prefabricated structure that is
more than eight and one-half feet wide, is used for commercial or business
purposes and is capable of being moved on the highway.
(2) The owner as
of January 1 of each year of a mobile modular unit that is taxed as personal
property shall submit no later than the following March 1 a statement of the
value of the unit and of its location. The owner shall submit the statement to
the county assessor of the county in which the unit is located on January 1 of
the year for which the statement is submitted. An owner who fails to provide
the statement is subject to the late filing penalty as provided in ORS 308.295.
The Department of Revenue shall prescribe the form of statement.
(3) When taxes on
a mobile modular unit have been paid in accordance with the provisions of ORS
308.865, the tax collector shall issue the owner of the unit a receipt
indicating that the taxes have been paid.
(4)
Notwithstanding any other provision of law, the county tax collector shall
accept a cashiers check or money order in payment of taxes on a mobile modular
