Populous counties; establishment of tax supervising and conservation commission
or submission of financial summary.
(1) The governing body of a county with a population of 500,000 or more
inhabitants, based on the most recently available data published or officially
provided by the Portland State University Population Research Center, shall:
(a) Establish a
tax supervising and conservation commission under ORS 294.710; or
(b) Require each
municipal corporation that would be under the jurisdiction of a tax supervising
and conservation commission if a commission were established in the county
under paragraph (a) of this subsection to submit to the county a financial
summary of the proposed budget in the format required under ORS 294.438.
(2) A municipal
corporation required to submit a financial summary of the municipal corporation
must comply with the requirement before the date of the first budget committee
meeting of the municipal corporation under ORS 294.426.
(3)(a) The
financial summary submitted to the county under this section must be in an
electronic format that is compatible with Internet publication.
(b) The county
shall publish all financial summaries received from municipal corporations
under this section on the Internet website of the county. [2005 c.750 §7; 2011
