Statute Text
Agency responsibility for abatement of asbestos. Each agency shall take the necessary steps for abatement of asbestos in its facilities in conformance with the standards, plans and procedures approved by the Oregon Department of Administrative Services. Those steps shall include: (1) Making inspections and providing information as requested by the department. (2) Scheduling its structures for necessary abatement consistent with the department’s priorities. (3) Contracting for or performing any necessary abatement in accordance with department standards, plans and procedures for abatement. (4) Training appropriate agency employees to recognize and work safely with asbestos-containing materials to comply with applicable regulations of the Department of Consumer and Business Services and Department of Environmental Quality.
