Acquisition of motor vehicles by department; assignment to state agencies. Subject to ORS 283.327, the Oregon Department of Administrative Services may acquire motor vehicles by purchase or transfer. All motor vehicles transferred to or purchased for the department shall become a motor pool from which, upon requisition and proper showing to the department of need and use for official state business only by a state agency, or on evidence that a specific intergovernmental agreement allows a public agency to be provided with motor pool vehicles, supplies and services, there may be assigned suitable transportation, either on a temporary or permanent basis.
