Confirmation of title to swamp and overflow lands; deed to claimant.
(1) All the rights and title of
the State of Oregon to the swamp and overflowed lands of this state, and
claimed by persons who have completed settlement thereon, or who may hereafter
complete settlement under the provisions of the preemption or homestead laws of
the United States, and have obtained a patent or certificate of final proof
therefor, hereby are granted and confirmed unto such claimant, or the heirs or
assigns of the claimant, respectively.
(2) Upon
application of any such claimant to the Department of State Lands, with proof
of claim evidenced by United States patent or final certificate of proof of
settlement and payment, issued from the United States Land Office, the
department shall execute and deliver to such claimant, without charge, a
quitclaim deed of the states right and title to the lands so claimed. [Formerly
