Statute Text
Purpose of chapter; limitation on number of districts; purpose of districts.
(1) This chapter is enacted in
order to provide a method of making available in metropolitan areas public
services not adequately available through previously authorized governmental
agencies.
(2) To this end
not more than one district may be established under this chapter in any
metropolitan area.
(3) Subject to
the provisions of a district charter, a district, where formed, shall provide
for those aspects of land use planning having metropolitan significance. [1969
