Statute Text
Efficiency records. (1) Records of individual efficiency of holders of positions under civil service shall be established and kept in all departments of the county government. The records shall be made by the appointing power, unless otherwise directed by the commission, and in accordance with such regulations as the commission may prescribe. Copies of the records shall be filed with the commission from time to time, as it may require. (2) The commission shall investigate all efficiency records and may make its own records, and shall rate upon such records the item of ascertained merit in examinations for promotion. The commission shall establish and enforce regulations under which records of unsatisfactory service may lead to reduction in grade and compensation and provide for the manner in which persons falling below the standards of efficiency fixed by its regulations may be removed, discharged or reduced in grade or compensation.
