Statute Text
Acceptance or rejection of payments by court administrator.
(1) The court administrator is not
liable for accepting any amount of payment under a writ of garnishment,
including any payment that is sent to the court administrator in error or any
payment that exceeds the amount required to satisfy the garnishment.
(2) The court
administrator may return to the garnishee any payment received from the
garnishee unless the garnishee has delivered a garnishee response to the court
in the manner required by ORS 18.690 or has provided a statement to the court
administrator that the payment is a voluntary payment on behalf of the debtor
to be applied toward satisfaction of the garnishment or is a payment under
another law or court order that requires or allows the garnishee to pay money
