Statute Text
Authority of Secretary of State relating to official acts of public officials;
signatures of notaries public.
(1) The Secretary of State may attest to the authenticity of the official acts
of public officials in the State of Oregon that are described in ORS 7.130,
194.255 (1)(b) and (c), 205.110, 205.140, 205.220 and 432.295.
(2) The Secretary
of State may not certify a signature of a notary public on a document:
(a) Regarding
allegiance to a government or jurisdiction;
(b) Relating to
the relinquishment or renunciation of citizenship, sovereignty, in itinere
status or world service authority; or
(c) Setting forth
or implying for the bearer a claim of immunity from the law of this state or
