Statute Text
Adoption records to be permanently maintained.
(1) All records of any adoption
finalized in this state shall be permanently maintained by the Department of
Human Services or by the agency arranging the adoption.
(2) If an agency
which handles adoptions ceases to do business, the agency shall transfer the
adoption records to the department or to a successor agency, if the agency
gives notice of the transfer to the department. [1983 c.672 §3]
