Maryland Criminal Law Code Section 8-106 (2023) - Penalty (a) (1) A person who obtains property or services with a value of at least $1,500 but less than $25,000 by issuing or passing a check in violation of § 8–103 of this subtitle is guilty of a felony and on conviction is subject to imprisonment not exceeding 5 years or a fine not exceeding $10,000 or both. (2) A person who obtains property or services with a value of at least $25,000 but less than $100,000 by issuing or passing a check in violation of § 8–103 of this subtitle is guilty of a felony and on conviction is subject to imprisonment not exceeding 10 years or a fine not exceeding $15,000 or both.
