40-5-74. Defacement or alteration of seized license prohibited. Whenever a person is charged with a violation of the law relating to the operation of motor vehicles resulting in the person's driver's license being seized by a law enforcement officer and forwarded to the court having jurisdiction of the offense or whenever a person is convicted of any offense resulting in the person's driver's license being suspended and forwarded to the department, such driver's license shall not be stapled to any document or in any manner defaced or altered so as to indicate at any time in the future such previous seizure and processing of the license.
