OPINIONS OF THE ATTORNEY GENERAL Purpose of uniform traffic citation. - Because a citation serves as the formal accusation against a convicted driver, local jurisdictions may transmit traffic ticket information electronically to the Department of Public Safety, but not as a substitute for sending the citation copy.
