40-1-154. Compliance with Code Section 40-1-8. Limousine carriers shall comply with the applicable provisions of Code Section 40-1-8. (Code 1981, § 40-1-154 , enacted by Ga. L. 2012, p. 580, § 1/HB 865; Ga. L. 2016, p. 767, § 1/SB 320.) The 2016 amendment, effective January 1, 2017, substituted the present provisions of this Code section for the former provisions, which read: "(a) It shall be the duty of the department to regulate limousine carriers with respect to the safety of equipment. "(b) The department shall require safety and mechanical inspections at least on an annual basis for each vehicle owned or operated by a limousine carrier.
