A. POLICY
The Village of El Portal Police Department values its senior citizens. During time of
pending emergency, such as the arrival of a hurricane, the Village of El Portal has made it
top priority to check on the welfare and well-being of its senior citizens. However, it is
also equally important that the senior citizens are checked upon with greater regularity,
not just when a storm or other major event is set to occur.
Therefore, the Village of El Portal Police Department shall consistently check on the
addresses of the list of seniors given to them on a regular basis to ensure they are ok and
not in need of any services that otherwise we may have been unaware of. Code
Enforcement personnel will also be able to take part in this most important community
caring objective.
