A. Whenever a purse or jewelry, or other property of value, is taken from the actual physical control of an individual by criminal suspect, the police report should be headed as Robbery - Strong-arm, regardless of the level of force, violence, assault or putting in fear. B. If an arrest is made in the above offense, § 812.131, Fla. Stat., titled “robbery by sudden snatching,” will be considered to determine the appropriate charge(s). Note that additional penalties will apply in the event that the suspect was armed.
