E. Interview victim(s) and witness(s) to determine details of the offense, taking care to keep multiple victims or witnesses separated. Obtain the necessary information concerning the victim(s) and witness(s). Include names, ages, home and business addresses, and home and business phone numbers. In the event that a culprit is taken into custody, note any spontaneous statements made by the culprit in the offense report. Keep multiple culprits separated. If during the course of the robbery the merchant utilized video surveillance, review the tape with the victim, noting the time as to when the robbery can be found on the tape, before placing it into evidence.
