POLICY 169.0ROBBERY - ARMED (Delayed) REVISED: 10/2007RELATED POLICIES: REVIEWED BY CHIEF DAVID MAGNUSSON 4/2019 A.A robbery dispatched as "delayed" will be responded to with all due caution, and vigilance will be maintained while determining suspect(s) location and threat level. B.If there are injuries, determine and request appropriate medical assistance. C.Obtain and broadcast a BOLO of suspect(s) and vehicle, as soon as possible. 1.Include the description of weapons, direction of travel, time delay, and loss, if available. 2.If a perimeter is applicable, request additional units required and set the perimeter accordingly. D.Preserve the crime scene. E.Interview victim(s) and witness(s) to determine details of the offense, taking care to keep multiple victims or witnesses separated. Obtain the necessary information concerning the victim(s) and witness(s). Include names, ages, home and business addresses, and home and business phone numbers. In the event that a culprit is taken into custody, note any spontaneous statements made by the culprit in the offense report. Keep multiple culprits separated. If during the course of the robbery the merchant utilized video surveillance, review the tape with the victim, noting the time as to when the robbery can be found on the tape, before placing it into evidence.
